Tomorrow
A smile cracked her face
As she listened to the song,
Written oh, so long ago,
Through mazes lost in time.
"Goodbye!" She'd cried,
Though it hadn't seemed so final.
She thought the kiss that held her now
Would hold her yet tomorrow.
A tear dripped from her eye
As she saw before her rise
A phantom, dead so long ago,
Through mazes lost in time
"Goodbye!" She'd cried,
Though it hadn't seemed so final.
She thought the kiss that held her now
Would hold her yet tomorrow.
When mist hung ore'
And waves clapped their hands
To welcome! Welcome! Welcome!
A man now lost in time.
"Goodbye!" She'd cried,
Though it hadn't seemed so final.
She thought the kiss that held her now
Would hold her yet tomorrow.
A rose fell from her hand,
Her grip, at last, had faded.
Final goodbyes must be said
To men, now lost in time.
"Goodbye!" She'd cried,
Though it hadn't seemed so final.
She thought the kiss that held her now
Would hold her yet tomorrow.
"Hold tight! Hold tight!"
She warned each mother near,
"Sayin' 'Goodbye' don't seem too hard,
Until your Love ain't here!"
"Goodbye!" She'd cried,
Though it hadn't seemed so final.
She thought the kiss that held her now
Would hold her yet tomorrow.
A lesson learned, though hard it was,
Hold tight while they are near,
A little thing, so long ago
But, in the labyrinth of time,
Who knows what fills tomorrow?
